Deanna Murray, M.Ed.
Deanna Murray, M.Ed., was drawn to the Children’s Museum of the Northeast Kingdom because of its commitment to play-based, curiosity-driven learning and its deep roots in the NEK community. She believes children learn best through hands-on exploration and meaningful experiences, and she values the museum’s role in creating an inclusive space where children and families can learn, connect, and grow together.
Deanna is a lifelong learner and a dedicated advocate for the growth and expansion of early childhood education across Vermont. She earned her M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University and taught preschool in Vermont for eight years. She currently works as a Program Assessment Specialist at VTAEYC.
At CMNEK, Deanna is excited to help weave the rich history and culture of the Northeast Kingdom into hands-on, engaging learning experiences for young children. She is especially passionate about outdoor education and views nature as a powerful tool for curiosity, exploration, and connection.
Deanna brings a love of sewing, nature-based learning, and reading aloud children’s books to the museum community. An enthusiastic outdoor adventurer, she enjoys exploring Vermont in every season—swimming in waterfalls, wandering forest trails, snowshoeing, and helping salamanders safely cross the road during spring migration.
Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Deanna has lived in Vermont since 2016 and now calls St. Johnsbury home. She loves everything the Northeast Kingdom has to offer.
