Kara M. Burnett
Secretary, Board of Directors
Kara Burnett brings dedication, creativity, and heartfelt passion to her role as Secretary of the Board for the Children’s Museum of the Northeast Kingdom. A mother of four young children, Kara is deeply aware of the vital need for a welcoming, local space where children can play, explore, and discover at their own pace—especially during the long winters in Vermont.
Kara holds a degree in Psychology from the Honors College at the University of South Florida, where she focused on coursework in child development. Her professional background includes working with children from diverse backgrounds as part of their therapeutic treatment plans. Today, she brings this knowledge home, supporting her own children as they grow, learn, and engage with the world around them.
A resident of Danville, Vermont, Kara lives on a small homestead with her family. She is committed to helping the museum flourish by applying her skills in graphic design and community networking to spread awareness and build support for the museum’s mission. She is especially excited to help create a space where families can connect with the rich art, history, and natural beauty of the Northeast Kingdom.
The Children’s Museum of the NEK is Kara’s sole volunteer endeavor, and she is proud to contribute to a project that strengthens the fabric of small-town living while inspiring the next generation to dream, play, and discover.
